Saoirse Nies (Pronounced SIR-sha NIECE) is an American interdisciplinary artist creating mixed media animation, darkroom photography, and self-publishing in tabletop game design. She uses contrasting media with an experimental approach, creating pieces that bleed with a timeless quality that gives an err of both the novel and the antique. She draws inspiration from medieval art, the crafted form such as pottery and architecture, the fantasy genre of all persuasions, and anything creating tension between the mind, body, and soul.
In her free time, Saoirse enjoys playing tabletop games such as Dungeons and Dragons and Warhammer, sewing funny clothes to wear at the Renaissance Festival, hunting for tchotchkes at dusty antique malls, and exploring new cuisine with friends.
